Equine Guided Wellness holistic wellness through connection with horses
Experience authentic connection with horses and learn to feel safe to follow your inner guidance.
Everyone is doing the best they know how. At Bright Stride we truly believe that. Because everyone is doing the best they know how, then, in order to do better in any area of life, we must first know how to do better... not just cognitively know but viscerally and with our whole body know that it is safe to chose a new response. We can rewire our nervous system to feel safe. Safe to be authentically expressed . Safe to listen to our intuition and trust ourselves. Safe to open up to connection with others. Safe to be just as we are.
That is the power of this work, it allows us to build and embody these skills through relationships with horses. It gives us the opportunity to practice choosing new responses instead of reacting in the same way we always have. It gives us the choice to create new patterns in our life. The sessions take place at our quiet farm located central to Belleville, Kinston and Peterborough. Available to clients aged 6+. No horse experience necessary.
Our equine friends are the ultimate examples of mindfulness. Horses, being prey animals, are constantly aware of their surroundings and living in the present, this awareness has kept them alive in the wild for centuries. They are also highly tuned in to energy and emotions, as you will witness, they offer us genuine reactions to even the smallest energetic shift. Horses also have a natural calming effect due to their slower heart-rate. When we are within the electromagnetic field of their heart, their biology regulates ours, slowing our heart-rate and calming us. Because of all this, practicing mindfulness and self awareness around horses is extremely powerful as they are right there with us, 100% in the moment. They will always give us honest feedback. In turn, we get to learn about their patterns and personalities and build relationships with these magnificent beings.
Here at Bright Stride, we recognize horses as the sentient beings that they are and because of this we allow them to chose to participate in sessions. In the same way clients practice boundary setting, we also respect the horses' boundaries. The basic principles of healthy, conscious relationships such as consent, safety, respect and trust apply to our relationships with the horses.
Sessions will look different client to client and day to day. There is always a focus on self-awareness and your individual goals. Often, the horses will bring up exactly what we need to work on. We may observe the herd from a distance, practise mindfulness exercises, connect with the herd, work on relationship with a specific horse or other activities.
